“And why didn’t the teenage girl pick up on it right away? ‘Roo’ has 2 characters that are the same, and there are 3 different ones on her.” I don’t know any languages other than English and German but you have just made the mistake of assuming that to make the oo sound in chinese you use 2 characters that are the same which I highly, highly doubt. Think before you speak.

That Chinese tatoo doesn’t say supermarket. The BBC are a bunch of jackasses. Meng2 Lian2 Xing2 could be considered a name. You can’t really translate western names directly into Chinese, but what she had tatooted means “together in unison” … or something thereabouts. And it’s three characters (chinese names are either two or three characters). So that’s a legit tatoo.

You can blame an artist all you want, most, if not all good tattoo shops offer the transparency to you to be proofed before they apply it. it all falls back on the consumer.
